Recent Travels: Joseph and Marcia Shulam in Portugal, October 2017

From Joseph:

Marcia and I traveled to Portugal on October 14th until October 26th. The trip was to visit and meet with people who are involved in the reclaiming of the victims of the Spanish and Portuguese Inquisition. The purpose for the trip was the organization of the next major international conference in Portugal for the restoration of the Anussim / Marrano Jews to their Jewish identity without coercion. The next international conference will be held in the spring of 2019 in the city of Castelo de Vide. This city was the main crossing point of the Jews from Spain after their expulsion in 1492. We had very fruitful time and meetings with leaders in both the Jewish community and with academics from the universities of Porto and Lisbon.
