Jerusalem Prayer List November 16, 2018
by Adam Lee Rosenfeld
I just finished teaching two and a half days, many hours of teaching, seminar on Ezekiel in Seoul, Korea. This morning the Lord willing, I am flying to the island of Jeju to teach in a church with the name, Beautiful Church. I would like to ask you to pray a special prayer for the people who suffered and are still suffering from the fires in California. Our daughter Danah and granddaughter Noaam in in the middle of these fires. Looking at the map of Thousand Oaks, CA, to see where the fires have burned and devoured in that part of California, I saw Danah’s neighborhood a small island that the fires did not reach in a middle of a vast burned area. We praise the Lord for that, but we ask you to pray for the many people who have lost it all in the fires. Please pray for Danah and Noaam – the air quality is horrendous, and the water is not fit for drinking. Pepperdine University had fire on the campus and they are closed until November 26, and Noaam’s school is closed indefinitely.
It is my opinion that in order to start a fire you have to have more than just wind. You have to have material that can burn and at least a match to light the fire. O.K. the campfire fire in North California could have been started by a campfire. However, fires starting in a strategic line – and they keep starting miles apart from the nearest fires – brings me to question the starts of these fires – could they be that some fire terrorist was instrumental in starting these fires? This is a question based on simple logic of a simple person. I hope that the authorities in the California will be looking into this possibility.
The Torah reading this Shabbat is VaYetze – From Genesis 28:1 – 32:2. This part of the book of Genesis is actually the story of Jacob after he runs away from the murderous intentions of his brother Esau. This is the second story of brothers in conflict, hate, and murderous intentions. In first case it was Cain that killed his brother Abel out of envy, and religious competition. In Jacob and Esau’s case the two brothers actually started to compete in the womb of their mother Rebecca:
“The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why is this happening to me?” So, she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said to her “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger.” (Genesis 25:22-23)
This conflict between these two brothers is lasting for more than 3500 years and it is not over yet. It is wishful thinking that it will be over soon. Although in the LORD’s economy all things are possible, and we pray daily and more than one time daily for the Lord to bring peace between the descendants of these two twin brothers. However, if you believe in the prophets of Israel you must realize that this battle of the titans is going to last until the return of the Messiah who will vindicate Jacob and his descendants. Esau’s had murderous intents against his brother Jacob this is the very reason that Jacob has to run away from his brother and leave the land of promise for northern Syria. Esau has some good characteristics and it is evident in next week’s reading of the Torah. Esau is sentimental and when he meets his brother Jacob and sees that the LORD has blessed him and that he is not hostile toward him, Esau too hugs his brother and kisses him and in a magnanimous way seems to forgive his brother Jacob. However, not for long did this reconciliation lasted – the sons of Esau carried their father’s grievance for many generations. What can we learn from this story of Vayetze?
- Don’t take advantage of your fellowman’s weakness! You might get a good business deal for a moment but pay for it for the rest of your life.
- Good advertisement works but if the intent of the seller is to deceive and cheat – it backfires in the long run.
- It is always better to make peace, but for peace you have to be willing to pay a high price. The price is worth it to make peace, but you can’t make peace with someone who intends to kill you until the murderous intent is eliminated.
- Always be ready to confess and apologize for wrong doing even to your enemy.
- Never trust your enemy even if there is a process of negotiation.
- Always keep an ace in the hole – like Jacob did when he went to encounter Esau his brother.
- In marriage always make sure that the woman under the vail is Rachael and not Leah. At times it has happened that before marriage she is Rachel and after marriage she turns into Leah, in that case make as many children as you can to keep Leah busy at home. (Please take it as Joseph’s morbid humor. Marcia was Rachel and is still after 50 years of marriage my Rachel.)
The Israeli government is unstable these days, and the rumors of elections in March are flying high on the mast of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This requires some real serious prayers for Israel. As King David said: “Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the late circumcised terrorists exult.” The whole Middle East is like a boiling pot, every cook has his fingers in the pot and is trying to grab what he can, Russia is there, the USA is here, Iran, North Korea, The Saudi are here and there. It is like a powder cage full to the top and there are about 5 people competing who is going to light the match. I am not talking of a local war, I am talking of another world war, may be the last of the wars on this planet. Prayer to the Creator of this world, the Lord God of Israel, is appropriate and it may be ought to be, “LORD come quickly,” or “Lord make peace the most attractive option for all involved.”
Marcia is with her family in East Tennessee. Danah and Noaam are in Thousand Oaks, California. They are walking around with masks trying to filter the smoke and keep breathing. The fire came one block from their home. Pepperdine University is closed until after thanksgiving, and Noaam’s high-school is also closed indefinitely. There are around 2000 students in that high school and the fire did some major damage to the structures. Please keep Danah and Noaam in your prayers, but above all pray for all of California. In my opinion it is possible that at some point after the fire started in Northern California some terrorists might have seen it as an opportunity to light up fires in the Los Angeles area.
My nephew Eli Levi – is starting to receive massive dose of Chemo-Therapy on next Wednesday. I ask you to pray for Eli. The doctors have given him a few months to live, but we believe in the Power of God to heal even cancer. It does not happen very often, but it does happen. I have seen it happen and have seen God do miracles of healing. So, please pray for Eli Levi, and Ruby Little who are both ill with bad cancer and undergoing Chemo-Therapy. It is especially hard on dear Ruby. She is alone and needs not only our prayers, but brothers and sisters who live in Oklahoma City and can help Ruby, please help and use this opportunity to do a real good deed for a dear sister who has given her life to serve God.
Pray for Sharon from Hong Kong and pray for total healing of her eyes. I am praying for Sharon and ask you to join me.
Pray for the rest of my trip. I am on the island of Jeju in Korea. My teaching schedule is intense and the reception of my teaching is warm and welcoming. On Tuesday, in two days from now, I will be flying to Japan and there I will hold seminars in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Kyoto. This is all intense and many hours of teaching. I need your prayers for staying healthy and strong to keep up with this schedule of hours of teaching almost every day. Netivyah is a unique ministry. My trips are not concentrating on fund raising, although God knows that we need financial help to continue doing the work of the Lord in Israel and in other parts of the world. My ministry is teaching the Word of God and encouraging brother and sisters to work for the restoration of the Biblical Church. The message is simple – let us get the same ingredients that the Apostles and Teachers of the New Testament had and the same message ought to bring the same results. I am sure that it will if we have the same ingredients. One of the main ingredients of the First Century Church was the Jewish people and Israel and the whole Bible not only the New Testament. Apollos in Acts 18, did not have the New Testament in his hand when he was teaching in the Synagogue, neither did Paul have a New Testament in his hands when he spend time in Barea teaching in the Synagogue for weeks. He was explaining to the Jewish people in the Synagogue that the Messiah is Yeshua and that the Torah and the Prophets pointed to the Messiah’s birth, death, and resurrection all from what is commonly called “The Old Testament.” Spreading Good News, Hope and Love, is my task on this trip.
Keep praying for Netivyah in Israel and in the USA. The leadership of Netivyah needs your prayers and your support. We are still praying and seeking the Lord for a replacement vehicle for Netivyah in Israel. This has to be a van that can carry at least 9 people, and preferably 11 people, it has to be a van that can be used for transporting goods for the Hamotzi food program, and it has to be a van that can serve the Munchkins – the Netivyah youth group.
Please pray for the international conference in Portugal in Castelo de Vide from May 17-19 and followed by a four-day prayer tour in the places where Jews were tortured and burned by the Inquisition between 1497 – 1821. This will be a significant conference for the awakening of both Jews and Christians and hopefully the state of Israel for the need to open the doors of Israel and absorb several million Jewish victims of the Inquisition back home in Israel. This ought to be the next major wave of Aliyah to Israel and the resettling of the Negev Desert according to the prophecy of Obadiah the prophet.
Please pray for Netivyah and pray for this 40th Anniversary Tour to be a success and an opportunity for us all here in Jerusalem to show our joy and gratitude for your prayers and support.
Please pray for the congress in Portugal that will be held between 17-24th of May, 2019. Pray about joint us in Portugal. Please write Netivyah if you are interested to know more about this very important congress on the state of the Anussim/Marrano Jews who were victimized by the “Holy Office of the Inquisition” of the Catholic Church for 350 years. Tens of thousands of Jews were judged by the Catholic courts and executed and burned. We must pray for the restoration of these Jews back home to the land of Israel in fulfillment of the prophecy of Obadiah the prophet.
Please continue to pray for Marcia my wife, and Danah my daughter and Noaam my granddaughter, and Barry my son, and Beth my daughter-in-law, and Joseph Shulam my grandson, and for Marcia’s family and Beth’s family. Pray for Anna W. a dear old sister in the Lord who has done so much good for the Kingdom of God and for Jewish Disciples of Yeshua. Especially now pray for Danah and Noaam. Their apartment survived the Woolsey Fire. The fire stopped one block from their home. Noaam’s High School was damaged and is closed and Pepperdine University Campus is closed until after Thanksgiving holiday. Danah is working from home these days. They are wearing masks to filter the air that they are breathing.
Remember our dear brother Jacob Damkani and ask The Lord to give strength and healing to Jacob.
Keep a dear sister in the Lord named Courtney in your prayers. Courtney has a number of health challenges and I ask you all to pray for this dear sister and her healing of all those challenges.
Please remember God’s answer to Cain when he said: “Am I my brother’s keeper?” Was, “Yes Cain ought to be your brother’s keeper and not his murderer.” This is on the principle of the New Testament: “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17 NKJV) On the above teaching – let us do good because we know to do it and because it is the right and good thing to do – pray for our brothers and sisters who need God’s hand of mercy to touch them, their bodies, and our own illnesses will also be touched by His Mercy.
Please continue praying for baby Lion from the Huch family in DFW. Little Lion is doing better in the last week and is back receiving Chemo-Therapy.
Please continue to pray for our Jewish brother Hillel from Helsinki. Pray for Patty, Andrea and Tineke are all in Netherlands and need healing from God. Continue to Pray for Julia and Victor our dear sister and brother who both need healing and God’s help.
Please keep praying for a dear sister named Zhou Wenlian living in China. There is a dear brother Isaac in Chenai, India, who has a deep love for the Lord and for Israel. He is sick with kidney problems and needs a dyalisis treatment several times per week. He is Pastor and a leader in a church in his city and I am asking you all to pray for the Lord to heal him.
Margareta, keep her in your prayers she is a dear woman who is going through some real hardship and anguish for her faith. Pray for Kenneth and Margarite G. in Tennessee. They are worthy for God’s grace and we are privileged to pray for the healing of these dear mother and son who suffer. Pray for Um Abu-Eid is a dear old Arab sister. Please pray for her healing and strength. Keep the following brothers who are improving with their health, but still lneed God’s merciful hand to touch them with healing, George, Gary, Melanie, Aharon, Yuri Marianenko, Sarit, Ahuva, Leah, Ilana, Miraim, Yehuda H., David Stern, Paulo, Noami, Tim Tucker, Anne-Mirjami, Satu-Maria and Anna-Majia, Sinni Tuuli, Erki and Sirpa, Keijo and Salme, Evelina, Eva H., Horace and June Marcia’s father and mother, Marcelo’s parents. Curita Sensei, the Abe family, Toru, Takeo Sensei, Daisuke Sensei, Tomoko San, Sadako San, Yumi, her husband has just died last week, and keep praying for her father, Pastor Oharah in Okinawa.
Please pray Ritva Huhtala and for sister Oksanen they need prayer for illness. Please pray for Louisa and Tony in Hong Kong. I have special concern for our dear brother Goh and his family, and for Sister Christy, Sister Laurel, and for Brother Michael Knezevich.
If you would pray for those whom you know that need this prayer – the Lord will surly cover those for whom you pray and those for whom I pray. It is hard enough to live in this world and work and business-related issues make it harder and as much as we pray for the spiritual issues and health issues.
Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem and believe in God’s promises!
